3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

4. User Content and Ownership

4.1 Your Content

4.2 License to GrantAppli

By submitting User Content, you grant GrantAppli a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to:

• Store and display your content within the Service
• Process your content to provide AI-assisted features
• Share content with collaborators you explicitly designate
• Create backups for data protection purposes

Important: We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not use your content for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

4.3 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by our AI features is provided to assist you. You are solely responsible for:

• Reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content
• Ensuring accuracy and appropriateness before submission
• Compliance with grant requirements and guidelines

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Violate intellectual property rights of others
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Scrape, data mine, or extract data through automated means
• Reverse engineer or attempt to access source code

6. Third-Party Integrations

When connecting Google Drive or importing Google Docs/Sheets:

• You authorize GrantAppli to access specified Google services
• You agree to Google's Terms of Service
• You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account settings
• We only request read-only access to files you explicitly choose to import

6.2 Other Services

The Service uses third-party providers including:

• OpenAI: For AI-powered features (subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use)
• Vercel: For hosting and file storage
• MongoDB: For data storage

Use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

7. Payment and Subscription

7.1 Pricing

GrantAppli may offer both free and paid subscription tiers. Pricing is subject to change with notice.

7.2 Billing

• Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• You authorize us to charge your payment method on file
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law
• You are responsible for any applicable taxes

7.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the billing period.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

8.1 Service "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8.2 AI-Generated Content

We do not guarantee:

• Accuracy or appropriateness of AI-generated content
• Success of grant applications created using the Service
• Compliance with specific grant requirements or guidelines

8.3 Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRANTAPPLI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GrantAppli and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your User Content

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by GrantAppli and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
